Eight HEIP students represented the school at McMUN (McGill Model United Nations), one of the largest Model UN conferences in North America. For four days, they immersed themselves in the world of international diplomacy, alternating between intense debates and intercultural exchanges!
A fast-paced schedule, a variety of committees
The HEIP delegates’ days followed a fast-paced schedule: morning study sessions over coffee, followed by committee meetings from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Divided among various organizations—OAS, ICAO, UNHCR, and the International Court of Justice—each student faced their own diplomatic challenges. And in the evenings? Team debriefings and social events to build connections with students from all over the world!
Memorable Moments
One of the HEIP delegates, assigned to the International Court of Justice, shares his experience: the testimony of the witnesses remains etched in his memory. Observing the lawyers’ eloquence and analyzing the depth of the legal arguments presented—an exercise as demanding as it is enriching!
Enhanced Skills
This diplomatic adventure allowed the participants to develop practical skills: greatly improved public speaking skills, flawless command of English, and the direct application of what they’d learned in their geopolitics and international law classes. Not to mention the rock-solid teamwork among the eight delegates!
The students forged lasting bonds with delegations from the United States and Benin, enjoying enriching cultural exchanges in the vibrant setting of Montreal.

Through Theatrum Mundi, HEIP offers new destinations every year: Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Greece!
