What is an MSc International Relations & Diplomacy?

The first year in Diplomacy & International Relations is also offered in English: International Relations & Diplomacy. The student will then be able to follow the MSc cycle 100% in English if he/she chooses to continue with the second year in International Business & Diplomacy.

This first year of the MSc International Studies cycle is professionalizing, the student has to do several months of internship.

The MSc International Relations & Diplomacy program

First year

Courses are taught in English.

For this first year, there will be a common core of subjects and then specializations to choose from. At the end of the first year, students have a research paper to complete, for which they are accompanied by a research director, a specialist in the field. They are prepared in the framework of a research methodology seminar.

The course of the MSc International Relations & Diplomacy

The year consists of:

  • lectures
  • TD (Tutored Work) courses in small groups
  • group work
  • e-learning
  • seminars
  • face-to-face courses

Throughout the year, students are evaluated through continuous assessment. At the end of each semester, mid-term exams, case studies or oral exams are the methods used to evaluate the students.

Each fundamental course (lectures) is associated with tutorials in small groups and specialized conferences.

For the first year of the MSc program, there will be a thesis to be handed in at the end of the program and an oral presentation before a jury.

Each semester, in addition to lectures, seminars and tutorials, in French and English, students are accompanied in :

  • Their preparation for the professional world and the search for an internship (between 4 and 6 months)
  • In the realization of individual or collective projects
  • In the organization of a series of conferences around public figures.

The prerequisites of the MSc International Relations & Diplomacy

Applications for the first year of the MSc program are open to holders of or in the process of obtaining a 3rd year undergraduate (180 ECTS) or an equivalent foreign degree in humanities, law, social sciences, politics or economics. The level of English will be evaluated during the entrance exam, so the candidate must have a good level of English.

Access requirements for the MSc International Relations & Diplomacy

To enter the MSc 1, the student must put together an application file and pass an oral exam. All the details are explained in the MSc Admission page.

If a new student: the candidate obtains the results of the competition 4 weeks after presenting his/her file to a jury
