Admission Bachelor International Relations and Political Science

Conditions of enrolment for the entrance exam

A true international school, HEIP welcomes 16% of foreign students each year.

Admission to the 1st year Bachelor is open to holders or in the process of obtaining the Baccalaureate or an equivalent foreign diploma.

Entry into the 2nd year Bachelor is open to holders or in the process of obtaining a Bac+1 or an equivalent of 60 ECTS credits, in the field of human, political, economic, legal and social sciences, acquired within the University or an Institute of higher education in France or abroad.

Entry into the 3rd year Bachelor is open to holders or in the process of obtaining a Bac+2 or an equivalent of 120 ECTS credits, in the field of human, political, economic, legal and social sciences, acquired within the University or an Institute of higher education in France or abroad.

Applicants can submit their application for the staggered start of the academic year from October 2021 to January 2022.

Applicants can submit their application for the September 2022 intake from November 2021 to July 2022.

Tests of the entrance exam

The pre-selection committee studies the application files. If the application is accepted, the student is called for two admission tests.

Test written in French (2h30) : The candidate has 2h30 to write a commentary based on a video on a political theme and/or international relations.

Evaluation criteria: Quality of the written expression, construction of the assignment, understanding of the subject and quality of the analysis (problem, arguments, sources and examples).

The subject will be sent by email at 9:30 a.m. (Paris time) on the day of the competition and to be returned at 12 p.m. (time of arrival of the supporting email) to the admissions department.

Oral test in French (30min) : The candidate will receive the current topics (choice of the subject by the candidate) at 12 p.m. and must prepare to make an intervention in front of a jury via Microsoft Teams. The admission interview will last 30 minutes:

Presentation to the jury (10min): the candidate presents his analysis of the chosen subject

Questions / Answers (20 min) : questions of general knowledge, political news, international relations and motivation. A few questions will be asked in English to assess the level of the candidate.

The subjects will be sent at 12 noon on the day of the competition. The instructions for the test will be detailed in the invitation to the competition.

The results of the contest are sent within 3 to 4 weeks after the date of the contest.

Admission to the MSc cycle

Conditions of enrolment for the entrance exam

Entry into the 1st year of the MSc cycle is open to holders or in the process of obtaining a Bac+3 (equivalent to 180 ECTS credits validated or in the process of validation), License or Bachelor in the field of human sciences, politics , economic, legal and social.

Entry into the 2nd year MSc cycle is open to holders or in the process of obtaining a Bac+4 (equivalent to 240 ECTS credits validated or in the process of validation), License or Bachelor in the field of human sciences, politics, economic, legal and social.

Applicants can submit their application for the staggered start of the academic year from October 2021 to January 2022.

Applicants can submit their application for the September 2022 intake from November 2021 to July 2022.

Tests of the entrance exam

The pre-selection committee studies the application files. If the candidate’s file is accepted, the student is called for an oral test.

Oral test (30min) : If your file is accepted and the committee declares you eligible, you will be called for an individual motivation interview.
The purpose of the interview is to assess your knowledge of the themes of the chosen MSc and to assess your motivations for joining the training.

You will be asked four categories of questions:

  • – Questions of general culture (field of previous studies + other general culture)
  • – Questions on the content of the chosen MSc (fundamental culture + topical questions)
  • – Questions of motivation (coherence of the chosen program with the professional project)
  • – Questions in English (about your motivations and/or current topics)

If the MSc is in English, the admission interview will be held in English only.

The Examinations Committee meets to deliberate on the files of the candidates. At the end of this deliberation, each student is personally notified of the results obtained by email within 3 to 4 weeks after the date of the competition.

M1: €9,290 (initial training)

M2: €9,390 (training costs borne by the host company)
