On Wednesday November 15, 2023, the HEIP Lyon campus was honored to welcome Edwy PLENEL, investigative journalist and co-founder of Mediapart.
In front of an audience of over 250 students, he talked about his professional career, his successes and failures, the highlights of his career, the creation of Mediapart and how it works, the major cases revealed, and the role of investigative journalists.
Our receptive and inquisitive students enjoyed talking with Mr. Plenel. Many questions were asked about press freedom and the role of the media in society. Debates were held on the current challenges of investigative journalism.
Edwy Plenel answered questions with passion and conviction. He stressed the importance of media independence, the search for truth, and the courage of journalists.
This conference was a rich moment of exchange and reflection for HEIP Lyon students.
