Promo 2022 – Communications Officer – Ministry of the Interior
“If you’re passionate about what you do, go for it. The opportunities in the armed forces are unique, humane and rewarding.”
COMMUNICATING FOR SAFETY
Charlotte Nony now holds a strategic position as Communications Officer in the “Security Management” MBA program at theÉcole des Officiers de la Gendarmerie Nationale (EOGN) military academy, working for the French Ministry of the Interior.
Its mission? To promote the MBA program to security professionals and the general public. This involves managing social networks, creating multimedia content (portraits, interviews, videos) and promoting the program on institutional websites.
“It’s a demanding, grassroots approach to communication, in the service of a high-impact cause.
It also provides media coverage for special events: GIGN, Gendarmerie des Transports Aériens, Gendarmerie training center, nuclear power plant, etc.
At the same time, Charlotte is involved in the organization of major MBA events: conferences, colloquia, graduation ceremonies, etc. She also liaises with journalists, ensuring an effective link with the specialized press.
A STRONG MILITARY COMMITMENT
From October, Charlotte will continue her commitment via a year’s Volontariat d’Aspirant dans l’Armée de Terre (VADAT) with the 152nd infantry regiment. This is not her first link with defense: she is a reservist with the Republican Guard’s 1st Infantry Regiment, and has already completed a communications internship with the Armed Forces-Youth Commission, as well as an internship at the École Militaire’s Research Institute.
“Joining the armed forces was a personal turning point. I found it a stimulating and deeply human environment.”
AN ACADEMIC CAREER COMBINING DEFENSE AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS
After her baccalauréat S, Charlotte took a double degree in History and Political Science at the Institut Catholique de Paris. She continued her studies at HEIP with :
- Master 1 in Geopolitics and International Relations
- Master 2 in Management of Institutions and Public Affairs.
Keen to deepen her expertise, she then began a second Master 2 at the Sorbonne (Paris 1 – Panthéon) in Armed Conflict Expertise.
“My career is a bridge between communications, institutions and defense. A balance that suits me perfectly.”
Charlotte has also been involved in HEIP’s community life, notably with Def Inseec, the school’s advocacy association, for two years.
HIS ADVICE TO FUTURE GRADUATES
Charlotte encourages students not to wait:
- Multiply your experience (internships and work-study programs)
- Test several environments to find your path
- Don’t hesitate to get involved in defense, whether as a reservist, a defense civilian or a member of the military.
“Defending your country’s values is also a human and personal adventure. Dare!”
